“We ended up at a Passover dinner… it was very meaningful and they talked all about freeing the slaves and everything, and my kids were into it,” the actress – who calls herself a “low Protestant” – said during a guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “But then when they brought out the 10 plagues of Egypt finger puppets, it’s hard.”

Created by Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd, the team behind Frasier, it’s a show that is pushing television boundaries and, in its own quiet way, changing political viewpoints. Right wing conservatives, including Mitt Romney and his wife, are said to be fans and, in a recent survey, Republicans ranked the show third in a list of their top 15 shows, while Democrats didn’t rank it at all. All rather surprising, given the inclusion of a gay couple with a baby as one of the family units.
“This is probably a little overwrought, but I do actually think the writers are making the world a better place,” Burrell says earnestly. “It’s one of my favourite things about the show. I love it when I talk to conservatives and they’re describing all three couples, and they never mention that one of them is gay. That’s the brilliance of the writing. In a completely unaggressive, apolitical way, they are showing this couple as completely normal dealing with ordinary stuff. The banality of it is the most revolutionary thing.
“I think if you turned around and asked that same conservative person how they felt about gay marriage, that probably hasn’t changed for them, but the seed has been planted none the less. It’s progress and it’s the coolest thing.”

Over the weekend, newspaper reports emerged that Sunrise co-host Samantha Armytage had started dating Eric Stonestreet when the Modern Family actor was recently in Australia.
So what does Samantha have to say about it? The TV presenter was grilled about the alleged relationship early Monday morning on Sunrise; a convenient segue was arranged when she introduced a story about toys saying, “iPads and computer games — you are so mean — are part of any modern family,” to which David “Kochie” Koch said, “Now that you’ve brought it up.” Kochie, Natalie Barr and Mark Beretta quizzed Samantha for details, but she remained tight-lipped, saying, “Do we have to talk about this? There’s nothing to talk about. There’s nothing to say. It was a lovely lunch.” When Natalie pressed on, “It said it in the paper! I’m only quoting,” Samantha responded, “Don’t believe everything you read in the paper, Natalie.”

The Dunphys of “Modern Family” might not eat at “Bob’s Burgers” — and fans of the shows might not eat at the same restaurants, either.
The two comedies are at opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of their average viewers’ median incomes. The median “Modern Family” viewer in the 18-49 demographic rakes in $81,100 annually, according to Nielsen data. “Bob’s Burgers” watchers in the demo, on the other hand, earn around $48,000 per year.
