Sofia Vergara to streak if Modern Family wins Emmy

Modern Family star Sofia Vergara will streak if the show wins an Emmy. The sexy actress has volunteered to walk down Sunset Boulevard naked if the TV series wins.
The actress also said that her co-star Ed O’Neill is ready to take her place if necessary. She added: ‘Ed is ready to do it too. He told me, ‘Sofia, if something happens, I’m ready.”

TV press tour: Critics honor ‘Glee,’ ‘Modern Family’
Members of the Television Critics Association (TCA) recognized the top programs and actors representing the 2009-2010 TV season Saturday night at its 26th Annual TCA Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. ABC’s “Modern Family” was voted “Outstanding Achievement in Comedy”.

‘Modern Family,’ ‘Glee,’ ‘Breaking Bad’ lead TV critics’ nominees
“Modern Family” and “Glee” will be duking it out at another awards show later this summer.
The two first-year shows are among the leading nominees for the 2010 Television Critics Association Awards, which were announced Thursday (June 3). They’ll also be competing head-to-head in every category in which they’re nominated: Program of the year, outstanding comedy series, outstanding new series and the individual comedy award.
“Modern Family” has five nominations total, while “Glee” has four; “Family’s” Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet were both nominated for individual achievement in comedy, while Jane Lynch is the sole “Glee” representative in the category.

Modern Family High Ratings – Again
“Modern Family” (9:00-9:30 p.m.)
Against “Idol” and the start of the NBA Conference Finals Game at 9:00 p.m., ABC’s “Modern Family” first-season finale built sharply on its lead-in (+2.5 million viewers/+68% in AD18-49) to once again finish as the definitive No. 1 scripted show in its time slot in Adults 18-49, pacing 27% ahead of CBS’ “Criminal Minds” (4.2/12 vs. 3.3/9). In fact, the hit ABC comedy qualified as Wednesday’s No. 1 scripted TV program for its 12th consecutive original telecast in the key young adult sales demo. Also worth noting, for the 2nd week in a row against “Idol,” “Modern Family” registered as the No. 1 show in its time period with Men 18-34 (2.9/10-tie).
Essentially matching its record-setting young adult number from the prior week, “Modern Family” generated the series’ second-largest audience (10.1 million) since January (slightly behind only last week, best since 1/6/10) and posted its second-highest-ever rating among Adults 18-49 (pacing within one-tenth of a rating point of the prior week’s series-best).

Against Idol at 9pm, ABC’s Modern Family jumped from its lead-in (+2.6 million viewers/+75% in AD18-49) to rank as the #1 scripted show in its time slot among Adults 18-49, outdelivering originals of CBS’ Criminal Minds by 27% and NBC’s Mercy by 282%. After running neck-and-neck with Idol with young men for past month, Modern Family beat American Idol for the first-time-ever among Men 18-34 (+3%) . The hit ABC comedy qualified as Wednesday’s #1 scripted TV show for its 11th straight original telecast in young adults.
Against “Idol” and all-original programming on CBS and NBC at 9:00 p.m., ABC’s “Modern Family” jumped from its lead-in (+2.6 million viewers/+75% in AD18-49) to rank as the No. 1 scripted show in its time slot among Adults 18-49 (4.2/11), outdelivering CBS’ “Criminal Minds” by 27% (3.3/9) and NBC’s “Mercy” by 282% (1.1/3). After running neck-and-neck with “Idol” in young men for the past month, “Modern Family” beat “American Idol” for the first time ever among Men 18-34 (+3% – 3.2/11 vs. 3.1/10). “Modern Family” marked its most-watched telecast (10.1 million) in over 4 months (since 1/6/10) and hit a series high in Adults 18-49 (4.2/11-tie), representing the series’ best-ever performance against “American Idol” on both counts. It was “Modern’s” 2nd time in 3 weeks to hit a series high in the key young adult sales demo.

Opposite Fox’s “American Idol” at 9:00 p.m., ABC’s “Modern Family” built on its lead-in by 64% to finish as the No. 1 scripted show in its time slot among Adults 18-49, beating CBS’ “Criminal Minds” by 13% (3.6/10 vs. 3.2/9). For its 2nd straight original telecast, ABC freshman finished in a virtual tie with “American Idol” as the No. 1 program in the half-hour with Men 18-34 (2.7/10 vs. 2.9/10).

It was once a feature film and then a television series that was quickly canceled but a decade and a half later inducted into the “Brilliant but Canceled” series.
