‘Modern Family’: Jesse Eisenberg, Jane Krakowski and John Benjamin Hickey to guest
EW has learned that Jesse Eisenberg, Jane Krakowski and John Benjamin Hickey will be featured in the installment of ABC’s hit family comedy. 30 Rock alum Krakowski plays “Dr. Donna,” a mean-spirited mother of a classmate of Manny (Rico Rodriguez) who winds up sparring with Gloria (Sofia Vergara). The Social Network‘s Eisenberg will assume the role of Asher, an eco-nut who is a neighbor of Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet), while Hickey (The Big C, The Normal Heart) serves as a therapist to a member of the Dunphy family.
“Under Pressure” starts filming next week and is tentatively slated to air early next year.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has turned to “Modern Family’s” Phil Dunphy to promote the the Complete Fourth Season on DVD
Dunphy, who is a real estate agent on ABC’s hit show, appears on bus bench ads, pillow cases and ads specifically designed around him. A new series of online banner ads began appearing Friday on sites like Zillow.com and Realtor.com.’
Target will offer the pillowcase as an exclusive item that comes with the fourth season of “Modern Family” on Blu-ray or DVD at at its stores. Retailer promoted the item in circular ads leading up to the show’s homevid release.

ABC Eyes Potential ‘Modern Family’ Spinoff
ABC‘s flagship comedy Modern Family, which is coming off a fourth consecutive best series Emmy win, may be getting a spinoff. Deadline learned that the network and producer 20th Century Fox TV have met to discuss potentially spinning off the hit comedy.One offshoot concept that is being explored is for a show built around standout Modern Family guest player Rob Riggle and the character he played in two episodes last season.

Modern Family Season 5 Premiere
ABC’s acclaimed hit comedy, Modern Family, returns for its fifth season with a special one-hour event, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
In the first half of the hour — “Suddenly, Last Summer” — the family is in the throes of summer activities: Phil and Claire are trying to orchestrate a kid-free week by coordinating Luke’s camp with Haley’s beach trip and Alex’s volunteering excursion; Jay and Gloria are getting Manny ready for his first solo trip back to Colombia; and Mitch and Cam make it a summer to remember.
In the second half-hour – “First Days” — Luke and Manny have their first day at high school, which proves to be harder for Phil and Gloria than for the boys. Elsewhere, Claire makes her big return to the workforce at Jay’s closet company and is a little rusty on her first day, and Cam starts a new substituting gig at the high school, leaving Mitch to try to juggle Lily’s first day in 1st grade and a very important meeting at work.

‘Up All Night’ Creator Emily Spivey Joins ‘Modern Family’ Staff
“Up All Night” creator Emily Spivey has joined “Modern Family,” the ABC comedy’s executive producer Danny Zuker announced on Twitter.
Emily previously worked as a staff writer on Saturday Night Live from 2001 to 2010. She won an Emmy Award in 2002 and a WGA Award in 2008, both for her work on Saturday Night Live.

Modern Family’s Nolan Gould, a celebrity “Ambassador of Hope,” along with 14-year-old cancer survivor C.J. George, spoke with Dr. Manny Alvarez, senior managing health editor for FoxNews.com, about the Hope on Wheels initiative, which raises awareness about childhood cancers and donates funds to pediatric cancer research centers nation-wide.
“I felt like with all the different ways to give back, I felt like I wanted to do something very personal where I could work with other kids my age and be there for them and hear their stories,” Nolan told FoxNews.com.
