Eric Stonestreet draws inspiration for Cameron from his mum

Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet draws inspiration for his camp character Cameron Tucker from an unusual source – his mum.
“I sort of grounded the character in my mum – she loves it, loves every square inch of it!” Eric laughed, speaking during a break from filming the mockumentary-style comedy in Hollywood.
“Playing other characters, people would always say I reminded them of my brother or my dad or whatever so it was a real treat to be able to say ‘not only did I get the part, but mum I based the character a little bit on you’ and she was like ‘oh my god!’”

Diana Ross album cover

Another great episode for Modern Family (well every episode till now was great…). Here are some quotes for you:

Mitchell: “Why is our daughter dressed like Donna Summer?”
Cameron: “She is not Donna Summer, clearly she is Diana Ross from the RCA years. How is Daddy not seeing that?”

Mitchell: “I am fun! Remember breakfast for dinner last week? My idea.”

Gloria: “Batman doesn’t get picked on and he wears a cape. A poncho is just a cape that goes all the way around.”
Jay: “Batman doesn’t get picked on because he’s a muscular genius. Manny can’t make it to the top bunk.”

EW has 7 portraits of the stars of Modern Family, here are some of them, you can find the rest in EW.

I was eight-and-a-half months pregnant with twins while we shot the pilot. If you watch carefully, you see Im behind every laundry basket. Im answering the door folding towels. It was just a function of hiding my belly, but then it sort of became part of the character. Claire is always doing something. Shes never hanging out. Shes always folding or cleaning or doing something.

I applied for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College in 1995. I almost made it. They had five clowns applying for two spots left. They send you either an acceptance letter or a rejection letter. The acceptance letter, of course, is filled with confetti, so when you open it up all the confetti comes out. I didnt get the letter with the confetti.
