Can Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet Do ‘Indie Edgy’?
Intriguing news on the indie front: Modern Family Emmy winner Eric Stonestreet — who plays gay clown school alum Cameron on the ABC sitcom — is in final talks to co-star in Loft, a thriller about married friends (including Patrick Wilson, James Marsden, and — also just-cast — Wentworth Miller) who bring their mistresses to the same loft and eventually discover an unknown woman dead in the space. It’s a tale of suspicion and deceit, and the man we know as Fizbo is joining the grisly ranks.

‘Modern Family’ star Julie Bowen talks about being gossip fodder in a bikini, choosing gigs, charity
The cast and crew of ABC‘s “Modern Family” are facing four months off before working on the next season, and Julie Bowen plans on taking a little vacation.
What she won’t be doing during that time is sport a bikini.
“I won’t wear a bikini again,” she says, “never make that mistake twice.”
Last year, the mom of three was photographed at a beach in a bikini and she was picked apart on some gossip websites.
“That’s the one thing that sucks about all of this,” she says of being a celebrity.
Outside of the bikini issue, life is good for Bowen these days.

Scoop on Modern Family
ABC’s Modern Family is ending its second season by adding a new series regular. The name of this pretty young new character: Bridgette. Who is she, you ask? “We’re getting a French bulldog for me to hang out with,” reports Rico Rodriguez (Manny). “She’ll probably be in the last three episodes of the season and then in multiple episodes next year. She’s a very good listener and has fit in very well.” We’ll have to see if Bridgette can deliver the same bark Ed O’Neill‘s previous canine co-star, Buck, brought to Married… With Children.

Craig T. Nelson Passed On Modern Family Over Money
TV veteran Craig T. Nelson admits passing on the role of Jay, played by Ed O’Neill, in ABC’s hit show Modern Family.
“I’m old enough to say it, I guess. That was it. I really wanted to do Modern Family and I really liked the script and I liked the people. I just said, ‘You know what? I’ve been doing this too long.’ We’re in the middle of a cutback here, ladies and gentlemen, in Hollywood and salaries have gone way, way down. I just felt disrespected to tell you the truth.”
