The cast and crew of ABC‘s “Modern Family” are facing four months off before working on the next season, and Julie Bowen plans on taking a little vacation.

What she won’t be doing during that time is sport a bikini.

“I won’t wear a bikini again,” she says, “never make that mistake twice.”

Last year, the mom of three was photographed at a beach in a bikini and she was picked apart on some gossip websites.

“That’s the one thing that sucks about all of this,” she says of being a celebrity.

Outside of the bikini issue, life is good for Bowen these days.

Lily Pritchett-Tucker, ‘Modern Family’
Lucky Lily has two doting daddies, couple Cameron and Mitchell, who adopted her from Vietnam in the series pilot. They sometimes argue over how best to raise her — Cam, for example, has a tough time letting her cry in the night, as the Ferber method of baby-raising suggests, and likes to watch ‘Scarface’ with her (the colors of the movie calm her, he says — but they both love and care for Lily (Ella and Jaden Hiller), as does the rest of the Pritchett/Tucker/Dunphy clan.

Crave talked to Ed, here is some of the highlights:

CraveOnline: Do you imagine any possible world where you’re more known as Jay than Al?

Ed O’Neill: [Laughs] I didn’t think about that one. I don’t know. I think Al’s kind of an iconic character. Maybe Jay will be, I don’t know. I hope so.

CraveOnline: What makes you laugh the most on the show?

Ed O’Neill: Again, it’s hard to say.

CraveOnline: I won’t hold you to one thing, but just to talk about things.

Ed O’Neill: Well, the first thing I remember really, really laughing behind the scenes was Ty. It was a scene where the underwear was falling on him, where Sofia was throwing the underwear and it was all over him. I was watching on a monitor and just the look on his face, it was pricelessly funny to me. Then things Sofia would do would crack me up. The gay couple is great, hilarious.
