We hope you enjoyed the new episode of Modern Family.
Here is a scoop about Fizbo from zap2it:

Any scoop on my favorite “Modern Family” man Cameron? -Jenna
Look forward to another appearance from Fizbo the Clown. We’ll be seeing him again. I know for sure that Cam (Eric Stonestreet) will flash back to a Fizbo escapade of yesteryear later this season. He’ll also be spending some quality alone time with Gloria (Sofia Vergara) soon, and the pair will be able to talk about the bizarre family they both married into.

Modern Family, Episode 10 – “Fizbo”: Cameron the clown

Modern Family episode 10

The 10 best lines from last night’s episode of Modern Family based on EW (in descending order):

10. “Let’s tuck our pants into our socks.”

9. “Yeah, you’re right. I don’t need it. An extension cord works pretty good.”

8. “I used to have a machete, but times have changed.”

7. “People are gonna stare. They’re not used to seeing one clown in a car.”

6. “Girlfriend’s gonna get stung!”

5. “I’ve tried everything to get her attention. Opening doors, having a milk sent over in the cafeteria. Nothing’s worked.”

4. “A gift card? Who hurt you?”

3. “She can’t go 10 minutes without her boyfriend’s tongue in her mouth. It’s like he’s feeding a baby bird.”

2. “Let me know if you get low on supplies. I’ll make a quick run back to the 1950s for you.”

1. “I am brave. Roller coasters? I love ‘em. Scary movies? I’ve seen Ghostbusters like seven times. I regularly drive through neighborhoods that have only recently been gentrified. So yeah, I’m pretty much not afraid of anything.”

And some review from Alan Sepinwall:

The highlight of “Fizbo” was, of course, Fizbo himself, and how seriously Cam/Eric Stonestreet threw himself into the part. Every time I think that the contrast of Cam’s gregarious nature and Mitchell’s more introverted, judgmental qualities is going to get old, we get a hysterical talking head like the one where Cameron outlined the four types of clowns, followed by Mitchell creating the marvelous assembly of words that is “weird gay clown uncle.”

Rico Rodriguez continues to be wonderful as Manny. The character doesn’t know how to tell the Interrupting Cow joke (or its funnier/more aggressive spin-off, Interrupting Starfish), but Rodriguez can even find a way to make Manny’s sad bouncing funny. (Gloria being ogled by the dads was more predictable, but when you put Sofia Vergara on a show with a bouncy castle, some things just have to happen the way they’re gonna, I suppose.)

We got a more sarcastic side of Phil than usual (I liked him offering to go on a supply run to the 1950s to get Claire some more crafts), which then nicely offset his pathological clown fear.

A very funny, very satisfying episode, and one that’ll hold me until the next new one in two weeks.

Ed O’Neill is married with a child in ‘Modern Family’

Freelance writer Lewis Beale caught up with the 63-year-old star during a break in series production, you can read the full interview at Newsday, but here are the highlights:

“Modern Family” was a hit from the day it debuted. What was it you liked about the project?

I liked the fact there were no jokes, that it was story-driven. I liked the interconnectedness, yet the separateness of the three families, and I thought there was a lot of room for comedic situations. I liked that it was so ensemble. That’s my theater background.

Your character is an older, successful guy married to Gloria, a Colombian hottie (Sofia Vergara) with a precocious, 10-year-old son, Manny (Rico Rodriguez). One of the things that makes Jay endearing is he’s really trying to be a father to Manny.

The fact he wasn’t the greatest dad the first time around, I think a regret is there. Now that he’s got another chance, even though I think Manny was not part of the bargain originally, now that he’s got him, he’s enjoying it. He’s basically a good guy, anyway.

Given that it’s football season, and the Steelers are defending Super Bowl champs, are you still a Steelers fan?

Of course. I’m born and raised in that area. When I was trying to make that team, what I recall the most was the graciousness of the Rooney family; they treated the players great. I was a rookie [during coach] Chuck Noll’s first year – we beat Detroit in the opener and lost every other game. This should give you a clue. If I couldn’t make that team. . . .

Modern Family Is Even Funnier Than 30 Rock – E! says

November 4, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

E! finally admits what we already know – “Modern Family” is the best show on today.

Here are some things they found about Modern Family:

Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, who play Lily’s proud gay papas Mitchell and Cameron, tell us why you won’t be seeing much of their darling adopted baby in upcoming episodes:

Jesse: We have been writing around Lily a little bit because she is a child that cries a lot. We have to remind the writers that we do have a baby. And we have to remember that.
Eric: Yeah, we’ve each gotten emails from people, viewers watching, going—
Jesse: “Where was Lily when you jumped in the pool?”
Eric: “Where was Lily when you went to Costco?”
Jesse: The answer is always, “She’s always napping. She’s very, very sleepy.”
Eric: Yeah. Our baby is the most rested child on TV. Like, our kid is going to really take her young toddler years by storm.
Jesse: I think in seven years when we have the toddler of Lily, she’s just going to be the character who’s just like–[fake falls asleep, snores]. What? She’s narcoleptic.
Eric: She likes to sleep a lot.

The transcription of this interaction might not really do it justice, but suffice to say this cast is just as funny in real life as they are on the series.

Take, for example, Julie Bowen (Claire) talking about the hotness of her “mother” Sofia Vergara(Gloria):  “She’s a modern marvel of architecture.”

And what about Julie’s hubby, Phil? He certainly has a wandering eye. Will he cheat? “You get married,” Julie says. “You don’t die. You can still see other people. Anybody that sees Sofia and doesn’t acknowledge she’s attractive is just lying. It’s just a line between whether or not you’re going to do anything about it. I think Phil (Ty Burrell) establishes himself as a very loyal, good guy. I think Phil would never cheat. He wears his schoolboy impulses right on his sleeve. You see it all.”

As for the money question that anyone who’s even just seen a poster for the show asks: Why in the world is Sofia Vergara with Ed O’Neill (Jay)? Sophia tells us: “Gloria’s attraction to Ed is that she’s in this time of her life that this is perfectly what she needs. You know, a stable guy, that he’s responsible, he’s there for her and the kid, he’s already stable. He has wisdom and she’s an immigrant in this country and her husband before was this crazy playboy…Javier. It’s perfect for her to be with Ed.”

When asked what Gloria sees in Jay, Ed puts it a little more succinctly: “Money.”
