Pop Eater has an article on TV’s best couple Cam and Mitch. Here is some of what they have to say:

In fact, we’re willing to argue that the lovable gay duo, played by Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, is the very best on the small screen right now.

Like all good couples, Cameron and Mitchell love and support one another. They may not make sense on paper — Cameron is flamboyant and outrageous, while Mitchell is more of a straight man (no pun intended) — but they’ve found a working balance between one another that gets them through even the most dire and embarrassing situations — like, you know, when Cameron decides that he wants to dress up like a clown, or when Mitchell wants to quit his job. As shown in the clip below, it all evens out eventually.

So, here’s to Cameron and Mitchell, the best — not to mention funniest — couple on television, who every Wednesday night make us more than happy to be part of their family.

Modern Family Gay Couple and CNN

April 7, 2010 by · 1 Comment

CNN has an article about gay characters on prime time TV, and of course they talked to our favorite gay couple from Modern Family. Here are some of the things Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet had to say:
“The opportunity to play not only a well developed gay character, but a dad, a son and brother was really appealing to me. … I chose to play him very close to myself and I think that truthfulness was appealing to the creators,” Ferguson told CNN.
“As a gay man and as someone who is an advocate for equality, truthfulness and fairness, I want to see more gay roles go to gay actors,” Ferguson said in an e-mail. “But then on the flip side, as an actor, I want to still be given the opportunity to play roles that are straight.”

“Jesse and I … get so many compliments from gay couples and lesbian couples that want to introduce us to their kids and thank us for representing them on TV for the first time,” Stonestreet told Behar, from CNN.

But still, “Modern Family” isn’t hitting viewers over the head with Cameron and Mitchell’s physical intimacy.
“We’re the perfect show to just build it in naturally, not draw a bunch of attention to it,” Stonestreet said.
For Ferguson, it’s a non-issue.
“I want the viewers to know Mitchell and Cameron’s sex and love life is just fine,” Ferguson wrote. “They also have regular bowel movements, but that is something you don’t see either.”

ARIEL WINTER – Modern Family

Alloy has an inteview with Ariel, Alex from Modern Family. Here are the highlights:

How are you like and unlike your character, Alex?
Coincidentally, Alex and I are both loyal and smart (not really tooting my own horn), cynical and funny and I have to admit, I’m a bit of a smart alec myself, if you ask my parents. We both really value education. The biggest difference is how we dress. Alex is more Urban Outfitters tomboy and I’m more of an edgy rock and roll younger version of Taylor Swift. Also, I don’t wear glasses or play cello.

What’s been your favorite scene to film?
Probably when Alex goes to the school dance and a boy actually wants to dance with her. Talk about awkward.

Have you had that experience?
I actually haven’t been to a school dance yet but I’m really excited. I have all these dresses in my closet that I’ve worn to premieres that I don’t really get to wear anywhere else so I’m really excited that if I go to one of these school dances, I could go to my closet and be like, “Which dress do I want to wear?!”

Who do you think is the funniest cast member on the show?
You can’t decide that. Everyone is hilarious. We’re SNL but for ABC.

What Emmy Should ‘Modern Family’ Stars Win?

Challenging Emmy question for “Modern Family” – who will be submitted as a lead actor and who will compete for supporting:
With the April 30 deadline approaching, sources say four separate scenarios are being mulled: either all six adult regulars (Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vergara and Eric Stonestreet) will compete as leads; all will go supporting; everyone will go supporting except O’Neill, who, as the only major pre-”Family” star, could separate himself as lead; or Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen, as the show’s “traditional” parents, will go lead and the rest supporting.

What would you do?

TVGuide.com caught up with tTop Chef Masters’ newest judge, Top Chef‘s Gail Simmons, to find out if she’ll be harsher on the renowned cheftestants and to get the scoop on an upcoming challenge involving the Modern Family cast.

TVGuide.com: Was a celeb challenge exceptionally fun for you?
Simmons: The one that stuck out for me for sure was working with the cast and crew of Modern Family. They’re just the most lovable group. We had this extraordinary day with them … But sadly, we shot this in the fall when the show just came out and I hadn’t seen it yet. So when I came home from shooting, I was totally hooked on the show.
