“Glee” Tops Golden Globes
2 new kids to the class “Glee” and “Modern Family” were the most talked about shows in the Best Series: Comedy or Musical category. It was slightly uncommon to see 2 brand new shows midway into their first season nominated but the strength of both shows were undeniable.
“Glee” had indeed won the award and an ecstatic cast led by their captain Ryan Murphy received the award with class and gratefulness.
Congrats to Glee and good luck to Modern Family next time.

Modern Family, The Middle and Cougar Town Renewed
ABC Entertainment president Steve McPherson said he was renewing ABC’s freshman comedies Modern Family, The Middle and Cougar Town so all three will get a second season.

Judy Greer to Guest Star on Modern Family

The actress has previously guest-starred on House and Arrested Development and even anchored ABC’s short-lived 2008 sitcom Miss Guided.
Greer will portray Denise, an ex-girlfriend of family man Phil that reconnects with him on (what else?) Facebook. Despite Claire’s initial hesitation, she’s invited over for dinner to meet the Dunphys.

Chazz Palminteri will guest star as “Shorty” in an upcoming episode of “Modern Family” on ABC. The episode, titled “Fifteen Percent” begins when Mitchell plants the seed in Jay’s head that he thinks one of Jay’s old buddies, Shorty, might be secretly gay. Jay doesn’t believe it for a second… except for all the questionable signs he now keeps noticing. Meanwhile Gloria gives Manny’s date a makeover and Claire faces off with Phil’s universal remote.Chazz Palminteri has over 50 movies to his credit including The Usual Suspects, Bullets over Broadway, Analyze This, Hurly Burly, Mulholland Falls and A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints. He has also directed the HBO series Oz (episode, Unnatural Disasters), Showtime’s Women vs. Men, and the feature film Noel, starring Susan Sarandon, Penelope Cruz, Robin Williams and Paul Walker. He was also seen on the New York stage in the play The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui starring with Al Pacino, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, and Billy Crudup.
Most recently Palminteri brought his show “A Bronx Tale” to stages across the US during its national tour.
This episode of “Modern Family,” will air WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 13 (9:00-9:30 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Modern Family: ‘Up All Night’ Preview
Modern Family returns on January 6 with a brand-new episode called “Up All Night.”
The comedy opens 2010 with guest star Benjamin Bratt of Law & Order fame, who plays Manny’s father Javier Delgado. After he arrives in town, Manny begins to stay up all night, which causes his mother Gloria much grief when she realizes what’s going on.
Elsewhere, Claire is forced to get her husband Phil emergency treatment when a bout of kidney stones hits him, and Mitchell and Cameron have a difficult time training Lily to sleep.

DRAMA KING & QUEEN: Rachel Berry & Cameron Tucker
Glee is arguably the debut show of the year, and its success is in large part due to its lead and her voice. As an unknown to relatively anyone outside of the Broadway world, Lea Michele was given the opportunity to fully mold and embody Rachel, the girl with the undeniable talent who is almost impossible to ignore. And never did TV make dysfunctional families look so good than on Modern Family. Eric Stonestreet steals scenes as Cam with his hilarious flair for the dramatic and his lovable individuality. Whether focusing on his devotion to his partner Mitchell, his love for newly adopted Lily or his enthusiasm as Fizbo the Clown, Cam is always the center of attention.

Pioneer Local listed their top TV characters for 2009 and guess who made the list:
6. Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) — “Modern Family” ABC
There’s no shortage of funny characters on “Modern Family,” but Mitchell just makes everything better the way he channels his family’s insanity as the “sane” one in the group. He’s what Michael Bluth was to “Arrested Development” but like Jason Bateman’s character, Mitchell might be normal, but he’s not without his quirks. One of the funniest episodes of “Modern Family” was Mitchell trying to recapture his glory figure skating days as one half of “Fire and Nice,” and secretly trying to see if he could pick up his sister. His sarcasm, self-doubt and cynicism is a nice dollop of reality on what otherwise would be too much crazy on one show.
