‘Modern Family’ director boards ‘Arthur’

Jason Winer, a key figure behind the ABC freshman hit “Modern Family,” is set to direct “Arthur,” Warner Bros.’ remake of the 1981 comedy that sees Russell Brand stepping into the role originated by Dudley Moore.

Winer, repped by ICM and Mosaic, has directed 10 episodes of “Family,” recently winning a DGA Award for his work on the pilot.

Modern Family’s Nolan Gould Interview

Nolan Gould, the kid actor from Modern Family, was interveiwed for Portrait Magazine; here are some of the highlights:

What’s your character Luke like?
He gets no respect from the writers! They’re always thinking of new things for him to do and most people would think the things he does are stupid, but Luke thinks its genius! He’s an average kid, but he’s sweet inside!
Sounds like a fun character!
Oh yeah! He’s fun to play!

Which has been your favourite episode so far and why?
My favourite episode was Fisbo because I got to ride on a zip line, go on a rock-wall…I’m afraid of heights but I love rock-walls! After shooting the episode, I said we should have an after party there, and everyone loved the idea!

That’s a lot of stunts!!
Yeah, but I’ve taken a stunt class before, so I was prepared. I also do rappelling for fun, so I could do the rock wall.

I have scoured season recaps and found my favorite Modern Family quotes from so far this season. I will post them by “family” starting with The Dunphy’s. Obviously I couldn’t fit all them into this blog so if you have any favorites of your own please add them.

Modern Family’s Vergara is TV show’s Jessica Rabbit

Modern Family star Ed O’Neill has revealed he nicknamed co-star Sofia Vergara ‘Jessica Rabbit’. Ed said: “She’s marvellous, she’s very funny and she’s bright, she’s amazing, I’m totally amazed by her… I call her Jessica Rabbit – she reminds me of that cartoon character, physically, she’s so stunning.”
He added: “When they told me I was going to play her husband I said, ‘It makes perfect sense’.”
