My worst wedding moment was at my sister-in-law's wedding. My husband comes from a divorced home (let the wedding nightmare begin). My sister-in-law did not tell my father-in-law that he would not be walking her down the aisle. Instead, she opted to have her step-father walk her down the aisle. Oh my, did it cause an embarassing scene. My father-in-law arrived at the wedding expecting to walk his daughter down the aisle. Upon hearing of the rejection, he refused to let her step-father walk her. It became a huge family argument where everyone was to take sides. The family members that backed my father-in-law refused to attend the ceremony. It was a bitter argument that still continues to this day and the wedding was ruined.

cdziuba@aol.com I am a church organist, and have played hundreds of weddings in my lifetime. One wedding moment stands out as particularly heinous….it was as if the entire wedding was jinxed. The bride and her horrible mother were very difficult to deal with, extraordinarily picky about details and inconsequential nonsense.

The priest really disliked them but felt like he had to put on a good front. The bride was a half hour late, spent thousands on the flowers in the church and somehow “forgot” what my fee was and i had to go after her for weeks for the difference in what she paid me.

The crowning worst moment of the wedding? She had 100 butterflies in little boxes with airholes, to be released when she came out of the church. Well, it was a hot June day, and I peeked into some of the guests' boxes and saw butterflies either dead or close to it. The bride found out about the butterfly holocaust, and threw a fit on the church steps.

    That was the worst moment.

My husband and I went to get our marriage license and be married at City Hall. The clerk took information and typed up the appropriate forms. Then she got to the field that asked for my last name. My soon to be husband announced loudly Charlotte What's your last name again??? We had been together for 2 years…I wanted to die!

A week before my best friend's wedding, a bachelor party was thrown for the groom. The men were entertained by a “pleasurer” who conducted “games” in which men would lick whipped cream off her body (I won't mention where) and then engaged in sex acts with several, including the groom. I informed my friend, who decided to kick me out of the wedding (I was the maid of honor) instead of calling off the wedding. The night of the rehearsal dinner, she called me and begged me to be in the wedding, because she couldn't find anyone to replace me. Good time!

worst I had was when I stood up in my friends and she had these long, layered ruffle brides maid dresses that were red tafita. I rode the limo on the way there so on the way back I caught a ride with one of the grooms men. In front of my house on either side of the street were these 3 feet ditches. It was also the 80s and he had a huge monster truck that says many many feet off the ground. WHen he pulled up in front of my house I hurried to get out for I was crushing on him and opened the door and told him thanks and tried to look cute as I stepped out without looking ( A FOOL I WAS) and WHAM, fell all the way out of the truck, hit the edge of the ditch and rolled all the way down. IN the process I tore the layers off my dress, ripped it to pieces and lets just say my up do looked like do do. OUCH it hurt too!

My worst wedding moment was pretty simple and minor. We had a small wedding and in order to walk down the isle, my dad and I had to walk outside first. We heard the music start and went to enter, but found that the door was locked. The song played a few times before someone realized I didn't have cold feet, I just couldn't get in!

My worst wedding moment was at my wedding, well it happened the day before my wedding. Someone rear-ended me at a stop light and totalled my car. I had to be cut out of it. Amazingly I didn't have any serious injuries, but the next day at the wedding I was in some serious pain. My knees were swollen from the dash being crushed down on them and I had burns all over me from the air bag. A big huge purple bruise across my chest from the seat belt, and a cut on my forehead from hitting the steering wheel. I think I am only smiling in like two of my wedding photo's. I was in such a hurry to get it over with so that I could sit down and rest, that I couldn't enjoy it.

I am my wife's 2nd husband. The 1st wedding,I am told, was a fancy church affair. By the time I came arround, they were tired of her and her problems. A hint–the wedding cake was a big cookie from the mall

While not a major catastrophe, one of the groomsmen had horrible gas during the ceremony . He kept
tooting the whole time and it was some of the worst smelling farts I have ever experienced. At first it was
    funny but that soon passed.

This is a comment about the contest. In your opening paragraph, you state, “…the worst wedding moment in a wedding that you been at….” Then you say spelling and grammar matter. Your statement should read, “…the worst wedding moment in a wedding that you HAVE been at….” (My caps.)

All's fair in love and contests!

Mine was being late to my own wedding. We got stuck in a 30 car pile up on the way to the wedding. It was horrible. Thanks for the chance.

We rented the atrium at a local hotel for our wedding. Now, before the wedding I had been assured that no one from the restaurant would be out there in the room we rented. Well low and behold when I made my way down the spiral stairs I noticed a couple of groups of people who were sitting there eating. My wedding turned into a stranger's “dinner and a movie”.. *sigh*

My worst wedding moment was at my friend Ryan's wedding. He has a brother who has a tiny drinking problem. When I say tiny drinking problem, I mean he single handedly keeps Miller Coors Brewing in business. The day started with him backing into the soon to be mother in laws car outside of the church. It was followed by him tripping as he walked down the isle with his bridesmaid. Next came the super awkward speech at dinner where he focused on ex girl friends. The night ended with him swimming in the pool with his tux on. I have never been in a situation like that before where I felt so uncomfortable that I wanted to leave.

The worst wedding moment I have ever seen was at my uncle's wedding to his current wife. We were waiting and waiting for it to start and then found out that the minister that they hired to perform the ceremony forgot all about it. By the time that they got in touch with her, she was over an hour away! The bride was crying, the guests, ravenous at this time, were horrified, and the catering hall, having another wedding scheduled after this one ( it was an afternoon affair) had to start the cocktail hour before the ceremony! When the minister finally arrived, we filed into the chapel area with plates of appetizers and drinks from the bar! What a mess! It does have a happy ending however- the ceremony was beautiful and they are happily married!

Her name is Kathy Sallis and my brother married her and she reneged on her vows that she spoke in the church in front of family and friends.

And yes, she is the worst aspect of any interaction.

I have a twin sister. We're not identical but a lot of people think we are. On that note, I got married a month ago and hired a family friend for my DJ… When it was time to throw my bouquet, he had called me by my sister's name on the mic. I wasn't offended as this has happened many, many times in my life. But then a few days later, my photographer, another family friend, posted some of our professional pictures from the wedding on Facebook and tagged photos of me as my sister. I guess the white dress didn't give it away? Meanwhile, both of these people have known us our whole lives! Thanks for the chance to win!!

For our honeymoon my parents paid for us to go to one of those theme hotels where the bed was a pink Cadillac and had a 50’s theme. The brochure for it looked really cool. When we go there the car was rusted out and the steering column was still in the car (makes it hard to sleep), there were no lights, the hot tub did not work right (it started gurgling) and the shower was really dirty (my wife actually said that if she used the shower she would wear flip flops). While my new bride was changing I look around and I found a marijuana joint hidden in the car/bed. This was definitely not in the brochure. So we decided not to stay there. Because of a sporting event all other hotels were booked so we had to drive an extra hour and finally went to bed exhausted at 3am. Not a good way to start the marriage.

The worst wedding moment I've experienced was my cousins wedding. She was around 2 months pregnant and they ended up having to start the wedding 2 hours late because she had terrible morning sickness.

The worst wedding moment was at my dad's co-worker's wedding. There were a lot of strange moments from my dad being a groomsman (even though he barely knew the groom) to the dinner at the reception being more of a potluck type of deal (it was strange to bring a dish to pass at a wedding). But the worst moment was when it was time to serve the cake. The guy cutting the cake was the groom's brother and most likely the person who baked/decorated the cake. My dad, sister, and I were getting ready to go up and get a slice when someone at our table told us to watch the guy cutting the cake. He would cut a slice, put it in one hand, flip it into his other hand and slap it down on a plate. If this wasn't weird enough, after doing this to each piece, he then licked the frosting off of his hands and went on to the next slice of cake. We decided to pass on the cake that night.

It was when my sister got married. My dad didn't like the son in law very much so he really wasn't very happy at the wedding. It wasn't a very cheerful occasion to say the least.

my worst wedding moment was at my best friends wedding. the preacher said to the wife, do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded wife. it was like a Freudian slip because the husband is really feminine. very said for the wife though, she didn't appreciate that at all.

My worst wedding moment was when my Grandfather, who was giving me away, turned to me as we were walking down the aisle and said “you know, you don't have to do this'” and I knew he was right. I should have run out of the church as fast as I could go in my full length dress.
