The Golden Globe Award nominees were announced this morning– you can find the full list here– and as far as the TV Awards go, they managed to spread the love across a lot of different well-loved comedies and dramas.

The comedy category expanded to six for some reason, managing to include the under-the-radar Showtime hit The Big C alongside five more expected nominees– 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, Glee, Modern Family and Nurse Jackie.

Three of the standout comedies of the past television season, “Glee,” “Modern Family” and “Nurse Jackie,” will challenge the reigning champ “30 Rock” in the prime-time Emmys this year.

“Modern Family,” the family ensemble on ABC, which received 14 nominations, and “Nurse Jackie,” the Showtime series starring Edie Falco, which received eight, were also nominated for best comedy, joining “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “The Office” and “30 Rock.” Five “Modern Family” cast members were nominated as best supporting actors: Julie Bowen, Sofia Vergara, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, and Ty Burrell.
