“Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland’s 21st birthday was a magical and glittering celebration at the Bank in the Bellagio last night. The birthday girl, known to millions as Haley Dunphy on the hit Emmy Award-winning ABC comedy, looked stunning and sweet in a Chagoury Couture dress as she arrived at the nightclub shortly before midnight with boyfriend Matt Prokop and a group of 10 friends.

“After the Fire” surrounds the family’s attempt to organize a community drive after a neighbor’s house burns down. Of course, they are all far more absorbed by their own problems. As we can see below, Phil busts in, lamenting the loss of two of his realty firm’s best brokers (and the beloved “tube dude”). Mitchell and Cam follow, bickering about the latter’s “wardrobe crisis”—just in time to interrupt Gloria’s not-quite-right impression of the inflatable dancing tube dude in question. Finally, Jay joins the scene, writhing in pain when his back goes out.

An excitable Phil, an uptight Mitchell, a flashy Cam, a confused Gloria and a grumpy Jay…yep, this is your classic Modern Family scene, and we’re all on board with that.

For the 3rd straight week of the new season, ABC’s Modern Family registered as the biggest gainer via time-shifted viewing in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, picking up an additional 4.82 million viewers and 2.4 rating points from its originally reported Live + Same Day numbers. With Modern Family and Grey’s Anatomy leading the pack, it was the 3rd week in a row for ABC to claim the Top 2 gainers in Adults 18-49.

As TV kids grow up, they sometimes need to be replaced. That’s the case with the role of Lily, the pint-size daughter in the ABC hit series “Modern Family,” as it begins its third season. Welcome the new Lily: Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, 4, who replaces the original twins who played the child as a baby and toddler.

ABC is giving us not one, but two new episodes of Modern Family to kick off its third season later this month and today, the network released two photos to tease the episodes. One of them is so scenic, it barely looks like a photo from the show.

Modern Family has taken another step toward re-casting Baby Lily: The ABC comedy is spreading the word around the casting community that it is looking for an “Asian, 3-to 4-year-old” to play the daughter of Mitchell and Cameron. The role is currently played by Jaden and Ella Hiller, the docile and very quiet twins who have traded off portraying Lily for the last two seasons.

There is still a chance the Hillers will stay on the show, but the writers want to keep their options open.

The cast and crew of ABC‘s “Modern Family” are facing four months off before working on the next season, and Julie Bowen plans on taking a little vacation.

What she won’t be doing during that time is sport a bikini.

“I won’t wear a bikini again,” she says, “never make that mistake twice.”

Last year, the mom of three was photographed at a beach in a bikini and she was picked apart on some gossip websites.

“That’s the one thing that sucks about all of this,” she says of being a celebrity.

Outside of the bikini issue, life is good for Bowen these days.

Fox won Wednesday night, though Idol took a noticeable hit in the numbers. Modern Family returned big, giving a boost to Mr. Sunshine. Not to be outdone, the dramas of CBS had their best night of 2011 so far.

The number two show of the night was ABC’s ‘Modern Family’. The Valentine’s Day episode scored a 5.0 (+0.4, 3 weeks), the highest rating the sophomore comedy has received since its Halloween episode. The premiere of ‘Mr. Sunshine’ benefited from this boost, scoring an impressive 3.7 with 10.57 million watching.

At 9pm, ABC’s repeat Modern Family won its half-hour by 17% in Adults 18-49, dominating Fox’s original Idol-fueled Human Target.  In factABC’s encore Modern Family stood as the #1 scripted television program on Wednesday in the key young adult sales demo, finishing as the #2 TV show overall on the night to Idol.

• For the 2nd week running, Modern Family put up the series’ best-ever repeat numbers, eclipsing the prior week’s results by 26% in Total Viewers and by 35% in Adults 18-49.

TV veteran Craig T. Nelson admits passing on the role of Jay, played by Ed O’Neill, in ABC’s hit show Modern Family.

“I’m old enough to say it, I guess. That was it. I really wanted to do Modern Family and I really liked the script and I liked the people. I just said, ‘You know what? I’ve been doing this too long.’ We’re in the middle of a cutback here, ladies and gentlemen, in Hollywood and salaries have gone way, way down. I just felt disrespected to tell you the truth.”
